A coalition of stakeholders in Nigeria's food sector has called for urgent measures to curb food waste and promote sustainable consumption, as part of efforts to reduce hunger and improve food security in the country.
They made the call at the "Table for All" event held in Abuja on Thursday, October 15, to commemorate the 2025 World Food Day, themed "Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future).
Jennifer Dinchi-Zando, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Platters and Co Restaurant, said over 33 million Nigerians face persistent food insecurity, stressing the need for collective efforts to end hunger and food waste.
