ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - This annual event encourages citizens across the state to practice protecting themselves from an earthquake.
With Alaska experiencing 50-100 earthquakes every day, practicing earthquake safety is crucial. Denali Montessori Elementary School participated in the Great Alaska Shakeout, where children quickly found their places, covered their heads and necks, and sheltered under their desks as they should in a real earthquake.
