Holsworthy Livestock Market Report: Wednesday, October 15
The report from this week’s Holsworthy market showed a strong trade for all good meat lambs.
- The 45-46kg lambs sold to a premium, with the top price being 316ppkg for a pen of 46.2kgs from C Littlejohns of Burny Cottage, Hartland.
- Other notable sales included 315ppkg from Mark Dymond of Hollick, Yarnscombe and Mike Down of Whitsley Barton.
- The top price on the day was £156 from Messrs Bolt & Moore of Torrington.
A smaller entry of ewes was met with a continued strong trade, with Suffolk x ewes topping at £152 from OVG Dennis & Son of South Tawton, and Texel ewes to £151 from R May of Henford, Ashwater.
