Free State Girls Tennis Team Finishes as Runner-Up
The Free State girls tennis team finished as the runner-up in the 6A Gardner Edgerton regional tournament, which featured eight other teams, including Lawrence.
The team trailed only Olathe Northwest in the overall team score, with both singles players and the top doubles team qualifying for the state tournament by placing in the top six.
“Everybody, top to bottom, played well today,” Free State coach Aaron Clark said.
A notable performance came from freshman Ward, who won the singles bracket.
