Carolyn Chase, 74, has been volunteering at Cap Sante Park, clearing weeds and invasive plants from the historic rock amphitheater and trail.
Chase, who moved to Washington state over a decade ago, was drawn to the amphitheater, reminding her of a "holy place" she knew in Hawaii.

Her efforts, which began in February, have transformed the area, removing large quantities of weeds and brush, and uncovering the amphitheater's original rock walls and seating, dating back to 1938.
