Sellafield Awards Infrastructure Contracts

Three companies have won contracts worth up to £2.9bn to supply key non-nuclear infrastructure works for the UK's Sellafield site.

The nine-year framework, extendable to 2040, will modernise vital utilities, civil works, and electrical systems supporting nuclear decommissioning.

These companies will be part of the long-term Infrastructure Delivery Partnership (IDP), delivering projects and tasks to support essential services at Sellafield.

The IDP will replace the existing Infrastructure Strategic Alliance and will be responsible for tasks such as electricity distribution, water, road and rail networks, bridges, foundations, and security installations.

The contracts will be for an initial nine years with an option for a further six years, through to 2040.

Author's summary: Sellafield awards £2.9bn infrastructure contracts.
