When asked about strengthening community-based organizations, particularly those serving older adults, the candidates responded:
- Vaichunas: would secure baseline funding, utilize multi-year contracts, and ensure timely payments to providers.
- Wong: aims to join the Aging Committee and support services for seniors, emphasizing the importance of older adult centers.
We all age and will retire eventually.
Wong also highlighted the reliance of community-based organizations (CBOs) on volunteers and pledged to provide guidance on applying for assistance and maintaining compliance as a non-profit.
