North Shore Bridge Closed Indefinitely
The Route 107 bridge in Saugus and Lynn has been closed indefinitely due to the need for urgent repairs.
According to MassDOT, the closure will result in "extended" detours. The bridge, which spans the Saugus River, was shut down after a recent inspection revealed the need for immediate repairs.
Findings from a recent bridge inspection required the closure of the bridge. The bridge will be closed until further notice. To ensure safety, vehicle loads must be removed from the affected sections until appropriate repairs can be completed.
The affected stretch of Route 107 is also known as the Salem Turnpike or Western Avenue.
