Bob Ross Paintings to be Auctioned
American Public Television is set to benefit from an auction of Bob Ross paintings to offset station licensing fees.
Over 30 original Bob Ross paintings will be sold at auction by Bonhams over the next three years, with proceeds going towards alleviating licensing fees for APT's Create multicast channel.
My head started ticking away, like, 'Well, this many paintings would equal this much, and this many paintings would equal this much,'
according to Joan Kowalski, president of Bob Ross Inc. The idea for the sale came after two privately held Ross paintings were sold for around $100,000 each in August.
