A bid has been awarded for the construction of a $45 million cyber security facility at Marshall University. Neighborgall Construction will build a 72,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art institute on campus for cyber research and training.
The facility will feature 13 laboratories and serve as a gateway to the I.D.E.A. District, bordered by the Brad D. Smith Center for Business and Innovation. Construction funding was made available by state lawmakers, who set aside state and federal dollars for the project.
Construction will begin immediately along Hal Greer Boulevard opposite of Old Main, according to a news release from the university.
Neighborgall Construction has been tasked with building the facility.
