Community remembers loved ones at Mitchell House 1st annual ‘Walk to Remember’

The Mitchell House's “Walk to Remember” marks a powerful new tradition for Sioux City, fostering a sense of community and support for those navigating loss.

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - The spirit of remembrance filled Sertoma Park Saturday, Oct. 11 afternoon, as Mitchell House, a local non-profit hospice, hosted its inaugural “Walk to Remember.”

The event brought community members together to honor the lives of loved ones who have passed, while also raising vital funds for the hospice house. Mitchell House is dedicated to providing comfort, support, and compassionate end-of-life care in a home-like setting.

“A lot of us have lost someone on hospice, and this is a great time to bring people together to walk in a moment of silence for those that we have lost,”

said Stephanie Veurink, Executive Director of Mitchell House, highlighting how the event raises awareness about the house, while also bringing the community together to celebrate their loved ones.
