Arizona Attorney General Threatens to Sue House Speaker
Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes has given Speaker Mike Johnson a 2-day ultimatum to schedule Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva's swearing-in ceremony, or she will take legal action.
Rep.-elect Grijalva, who was elected to represent Arizona's 7th Congressional District, has not been sworn in three weeks after her election.
Mayes stated that the oath of office ceremony must take place before the end of the federal government shutdown.
In a letter to Johnson's office, Mayes announced her intention to sue if the ceremony is not scheduled by Thursday.
