According to Music Business Worldwide, Sir Lucian Grainge, Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group, has outlined the company's strategy for generative AI partnerships and product development.
We will NOT license AI models that use an artist’s voice without their consent.
Grainge's memo addresses three core areas: UMG's expanding portfolio of AI company agreements, artist participation in AI opportunities, and public policy advocacy around responsible AI development.
