A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect until 8 PM Wednesday for coastal Carteret, Craven, Pamlico, and Onslow Counties. A Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect from the Oregon Inlet southward through Ocracoke Island through 8 AM Wednesday.
The clouds will stick around on Tuesday, but rain is unlikely. Winds will stay gusty from the north at 15-30 mph. By midweek, temperatures will rise into the upper 60s and low 70s inland, and mid-70s along the coast.
Sunshine is expected to return, leading to a milder mid-October day. At night, temperatures may quickly drop into the 50s, with 40s potentially returning Wednesday and Thursday night.
