KTM has confirmed the availability of its new 990 RC R supersport model, with the first units set to arrive in late November, priced at £13,499.
The new model features an extensive suite of electronics and the brand’s LC8 parallel-twin engine, producing 128.2bhp at 9,500rpm and 76 Ib ft of torque at 6,750rpm.
The 990 RC R will be available in both orange and black, competing with the likes of Yamaha’s R9 (£12,254) and Ducati’s new Panigale V2 (£15,395).
KTM says the new model has been “years in the making”, despite being slowed in its development due to the company’s recent financial troubles.
The new 990 RC R is expected to be followed by a track-specific model, further expanding KTM’s supersport offerings.
