Sudan Deports South Sudanese Women

Sudanese authorities have deported over 100 South Sudanese women from Khartoum, separating at least 61 from their children.

The women were detained in the streets or homes, then transferred to detention centers and deported to the Joda border area, connecting to South Sudan's Upper Nile state, according to Diing Deng Lueth, commissioner of Renk County.

"I call on the Sudanese authorities to respect the humanity of South Sudanese citizens in Sudan, particularly in Khartoum State,"

Lueth described the deportations as occurring under poor humanitarian conditions and ordered the impoundment of the buses used until the mothers are reunited with their children.
