Jerusalem Hostages’ Tent Dismantled After Almost Two Years

The Hostages’ Tent located at the intersection of Jerusalem’s Aza Road and Balfour Street, near the Prime Minister’s Residence, was taken down earlier this evening. The tent had stood for nearly two years, serving as a central gathering point for families and supporters of the Israeli hostages taken during the Hamas-led attacks.

Established shortly after the October 7 attacks, the tent became a symbol of solidarity and public pressure, hosting vigils, protests, and visits from Israeli and international officials. It drew thousands who came to show support, light candles, and call for the hostages’ release.

“This tent reminded everyone of those still waiting to come home,” said one of the organizers. “Taking it down marks both an end and a painful reminder that our fight continues.”

City officials coordinated the dismantling in cooperation with organizers, citing logistical and safety reasons.
