FTSE 100 Makes Steady Progress
Miners prosper as the FTSE 100 index recouped some of Friday's losses, closing up 15.40 points at 9,442.87.
Gold miners Fresnillo and Endeavour Mining saw significant gains, leaping 9.1% and 11% respectively, as gold prices soared.
The FTSE 250 ended 262.48 points higher at 22,064.32, while the AIM All-Share rose 6.14 points to 792.47.
In European equities, the CAC 40 in Paris closed up 0.2%, and the DAX 40 in Frankfurt ended up 0.6%.
This progress came as President Donald Trump dialled down his rhetoric in the trade spat between the US and China.
