Two-time Olympian and third for John Shuster, Chris Plys, approaches the U.S. Olympic Curling Team Trials with quiet confidence. The Trials determine who will represent the United States at the December Olympic Qualification Event and potentially at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina.
The U.S. Olympic Curling Team Trials is a five-day competition featuring the nation’s top men’s and women’s curling teams. The event aims to narrow down the field to one champion who will then pursue one of the last two available spots for the Olympic team events in February 2026.
At 38 years old, Plys, who previously competed in Vancouver 2010 and Beijing 2022, reflected on the significance of the Trials. During the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) summit in New York last October, he expressed a strong enthusiasm for the upcoming challenge, despite recovering from a recent injury.
“I’m quietly confident as my team prepares to compete for the chance to represent the U.S. at the Olympic Qualification Event and beyond,” Plys said.
Chris Plys combines experience and determination as he aims to help his team claim the United States' spot at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
