The exhibition titled “Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style” will celebrate 100 years since Queen Elizabeth II's birth on April 21, 1926. It is set to be the largest and most extensive display of her fashion to date, opening on April 10 at the King’s Gallery in Buckingham Palace, London. Tickets will be available from Tuesday through the Royal Collection Trust’s official website.
Three renowned British fashion designers—Erdem Moralioglu, Richard Quinn, and Christopher Kane—will participate in this special exhibition. Each will present one piece from their previous collections, exhibited alongside related garments from the late monarch’s fashion archive.
The exhibition's official centenary publication contains reflections from the three designers on the queen’s fashion legacy. It also features a tribute by Anna Wintour and an essay by Amy de la Haye, professor of dress history and curatorship at the London College of Fashion.
Erdem Moralioglu described Queen Elizabeth II's wardrobe as “a snapshot of a very long life, a life of duty, and in so many ways it’s a time capsule.”
