The Hong Kong Sixes 2025 begins on November 7, bringing fast-paced cricket action to the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground in Hong Kong. This edition features 12 teams competing in a dynamic six-a-side format.
Dinesh Karthik will captain the Indian team, which will be without Ravichandran Ashwin, sidelined due to injury.
The competition’s group phase follows a single round-robin structure. The top two teams from each pool progress to the quarterfinals, after which the tournament continues in a knockout format. Teams that do not reach the main knockout round will play bowl and plate fixtures to decide their final ranking.
First held in the 1990s, the Hong Kong Sixes was created to offer local fans a chance to see international cricketers, even though Hong Kong was only an ICC Associate Member. It evolved from a one-off event into a recurring international tournament.
“The Hong Kong Sixes is a fast-paced cricket tournament designed to provide excitement and global participation in a unique six-player format.”
Matches will be available for live viewing through Sony Sports Network and the SonyLiv platform.
