After a difficult road loss to undefeated Harvard, Dartmouth football is preparing to regain momentum in a home matchup against the Princeton Tigers. The Big Green fell 31–10 to Harvard’s potent offense and disciplined defense, leaving the Crimson unbeaten.
Despite the setback, Dartmouth showed resilience in the third quarter and found several positives to build on for the upcoming game.
“We came out of halftime and really battled and put ourselves right back in the game,” head coach Sammy McCorkle said. “But they just out-executed us and we didn’t make enough plays when we did get that momentum going. We talked about it at halftime—just go out there and take one play at a time, and make sure we do what we do. I think we did that in the third quarter.”
Tight end Chris Corbo ’26, a 2024 All-Ivy First Team selection, highlighted the team’s offensive determination and growth from the Harvard matchup.
“We showed that when we play at our best we can execute against anyone,” Corbo said. “We came out of halftime with a purpose.”
Defensive end Joshua Johnson ’27 emphasized the improved pressure applied to Harvard’s quarterback, noting it as a key focus for the team’s upcoming game against Princeton.
“With that game, specifically the pressure we continued to put on the quarterback was a huge thing,” Johnson said.
Dartmouth looks to turn lessons from its loss to Harvard into a strong, focused performance against Princeton this Saturday at home.
