Ryan Wood Set for Bathurst Upset After Feeney Crash
Ryan Wood is close to winning the Bathurst 1000 after Broc Feeney, a Supercars heavyweight, crashed out of the race.
The Bathurst 1000 will have a thrilling finish after Feeney suffered a race-ending crash in wet conditions. Feeney, driving for Triple Eight, was in third place before crashing into the wall at Forrest's Elbow, prompting a safety car deployment.
Ryan Wood, driving for Walkinshaw Andretti United, led the race and had to defend his position against James Golding over the final 35 laps. Matt Payne finished third and moved ahead of Feeney in the series standings.
Last year's Bathurst 1000 winner, Brodie Kostecki, finished 22nd after receiving a penalty for forcing rookie Kai Allen off the track.
