Facing the Trump Administration’s threat to cut SNAP benefits for millions, Jimmy Kimmel Live! has initiated a food drive supporting the Los Angeles Food Bank and St. Joseph Center.
The government shutdown has neared 36 days, setting a new record, while 42 million Americans depend on food stamps with an unclear future regarding their benefits.
“Cutting SNAP benefits creates uncertainty for American children, seniors and families. To support our community members in need, we’re starting a donation center in our Hollywood backlot to benefit the @LAFoodBank & @StJosephCtr. If you are in LA, please come by to donate food and if you are not, please consider supporting your local food banks.”
Named “The Jimmy Kimmel Live Big, Beautiful Food Bank,” the donation drive operates from 9 a.m. at 6901 Hawthorn Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90028.
Summary: With the Trump Administration threatening SNAP cuts during a record government shutdown, Jimmy Kimmel's food drive supports struggling families by partnering with local organizations to combat hunger.
