Netflix has released the first five minutes of the final season of Stranger Things, ahead of its November premiere. This preview is available on YouTube for fans eagerly awaiting the conclusion of the series.
The opening scene takes viewers back to November 1983, the year in which the first season is set. It features a young Will Byers (Noah Schnapp), depicted with CGI de-aging and a classic bowl cut.
Will is shown running from a Demogorgon, who unnervingly calms him by singing The Clash’s “Should I Stay or Should I Go.” The creature shrugs off being shot in the face and demonstrates an unexpected ability: tree climbing.
After leaping between trees, Will falls and loses consciousness. The Demogorgon then drags his unconscious body back to Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower), who remains a shadowy, controlling presence behind the scenes.
"The Demogorgon, news to everyone, including the abject horror of Will, can also climb trees."
"Looming in the shadows, moving chess pieces and whatnot."
This teaser revives the series' 1980s atmosphere while deepening the mysterious ties between Will, the Demogorgon, and Vecna, setting a chilling tone for the final season.
