The second season of Prime Video's popular series Maxton Hall is set to return in November. Despite only 18 months passing since the first season, it feels much longer to fans eagerly awaiting new episodes.
Maxton Hall is a German-language adaptation based on a book series. It premiered in May 2024 and explores the story of Ruby Bell, played by Harriet Herbig-Matten, and James Beaufort, portrayed by Damian Hardung. The show is set at a prestigious private school and includes classic themes such as enemies-to-lovers.
James, the school's golden boy, and Ruby, a scholarship student, become entangled when Ruby uncovers a secret in the very first episode. Their interactions involve James' threatening behavior balanced by Ruby's witty retorts.
At the end of season one, "James and Ruby had reconciled, but then he learns of his mother’s death and has a huge (and physical) fight with his dad, which forces him to leave his house and seek comfort with Ruby. But when he arrives at her home, he sees how happy she is with her family, so he walks away alone so he doesn’t burden her with his devastation."
While the show follows a familiar romantic formula, the German-language aspect made the cast uncertain about its reception upon release.
Author's summary: The awaited second season of Maxton Hall returns this November, continuing the intense, witty romance between Ruby and James against a backdrop of secrets and personal struggles.
