Elder Gérald Caussé has recently been sustained as the newest member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is originally from Bordeaux, France, and is 62 years old.
Before his calling to the Quorum, Elder Caussé served for eleven years as the Presiding Bishop of the Church. Prior to that, he was a General Authority, serving first in Germany and then in the United States from 2008 to 2012.
He and his wife, Valérie, have been married for 30 years and are parents to five children.
