In a significant development for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Gérald Caussé has been appointed as the newest apostle, marking a key moment in the church's leadership. His appointment introduces a fresh perspective to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, especially given his expertise in financial management and environmental stewardship.
Born in Bordeaux, France, Gérald Caussé serves as the church's 15th presiding bishop and is the third presiding bishop born outside the United States. Since October 2015, he has been responsible for managing the church’s real estate, financial, investment, and humanitarian operations. His French background adds diversity to the leadership, which also includes two other European apostles: Dieter F. Uchtdorf from Germany and Patrick Kearon from Britain.
“I’ve always had a testimony of Jesus Christ. He’s always been in the center of my life.”
Caussé’s steadfast faith in Jesus Christ forms the foundation of his new duties as an apostle.
One of Caussé's main responsibilities has been managing the church’s large financial assets, an area that has attracted significant attention in recent years.
