Gary Lineker pointed to Amad as a clear example of an ongoing problem at Manchester United under manager Rúben Amorim.
Rúben Amorim kept the same starting XI as Manchester United faced Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in a Premier League clash. Both teams started aggressively, creating early chances, but Forest dominated the early exchanges.
Despite Forest’s pressure, Manchester United scored first when Casemiro headed in from a corner that many Forest fans disputed.
Forest pushed hard for an equalizer but couldn’t break through before halftime.
Nottingham Forest came out strong after the break, quickly equalizing with a Morgan Gibbs-White header. Seconds later, Nicolò Savona scored to put Forest ahead, forcing United to chase the game.
The match opened up with chances for both sides. With ten minutes left, Amad executed an excellent first-time volley to level the score for United.
“Amad produced a superb first-time volley to bring Amorim’s side back on level terms.”
Amad nearly scored a late winner, but a vital goal-line clearance by Murillo ensured the match ended in a draw.
Although naturally a right winger, Amad has been used as a right wing-back since Amorim’s appointment. He has had some success in this role, especially linking well with summer signing Bryan Mbeumo down United’s right flank.
Amad’s performance highlights both his potential and the tactical challenges Manchester United continues to face under Amorim.
Amad exemplifies both the promise and persistent issues within Manchester United's current tactical setup under Rúben Amorim.
