Travel Weekly visited Rick Stein's latest restaurant located in the newly opened InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach hotel, which features 198 guest rooms and a distinct Mediterranean beach atmosphere.
The restaurant accommodates 224 guests across three unique areas:
It offers intimate indoor seating, including a 10-seat chef's table and two 12-seat banquette areas. The walls are adorned with two major artworks: an arrow squid and a school of fish.
Sass’s Bar, honoring Stein’s Australian PR wife Sarah, occupies the space of the former karaoke bar from the Crowne Plaza. The restaurant will have a soft launch serving 80 guests, with Rick Stein expected to arrive on 20 December.
Over 3,500 people booked immediately after reservations opened. The restaurant will serve lunch and dinner on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and dinner only from Monday to Thursday.
“Sydney’s Coogee Beach is the perfect location for our flagship Australian restaurant,” said Rick Stein. “It’s relaxed yet sophisticated, with that incredible connection to the ocean that has always inspired my cooking. For us, this feels like coming home.”
Rick Stein’s new coastal venue blends elegant Mediterranean style with a strong ocean-inspired ambiance, making it a standout dining destination at Coogee Beach.
